HAUNT YOUR HOUSE Decorating contest
Judging opens Thursday, October 10

Get in the spirit of the season with Westfield’s second annual “Haunt your House” Halloween House Decorating Contest. Community members will tour the decorations and vote for their favorites using an online map of participating homes. Which home will be the spookiest? The kookiest or the ookiest? Maybe it will be yours!

CHAS ADDAMS & FRIENDS ART EXHIBIT

Wednesday, October 23

AddamsFest is proud to showcase original Charles Addams masterpieces, never before seen in Westfield, along with treasured reproductions, in a boutique exhibit generously on loan from the Tee & Charles Addams Foundation. Local student art will also be on display alongside the work of Addams, as the finalists from the Charles Addams Student Cartoon Contest are recognized.

Morticia & Gomez’s Masquerade Ball
Saturday, October 19

The festivities kick off in high style when Morticia & Gomez Addams host their Second Annual Masquerade Ball. After walking the purple carpet, guests will feast on Charles Addams-inspired gourmet fare, sip smoldering libations, and dance the night away in an interactive setting. Do the tango with Morticia & Gomez – or the mamushka with Fester -- and visit Morticia's aunt for a tarot card reading.

The Addams Family Fun Zone, including the return of the Maniac Pumpkin Carvers and the Howl-o-Ween Dog Contest
Sunday, october 20

Families will get ooky and spooky on Quimby Street as they take in a variety of activities, including character visits, street performers, incredible displays by the Maniac Pumpkin Carvers and a Monster Mash dance party they will never forget.

The Optimist Club of Westfield’s Annual Halloween Parade & The Downtown Westfield Corporation’s Costume Contest
Sunday, October 27

Put the kids in their costumes and celebrate Halloween, AddamsFest-style! Join the beloved tradition of The Westfield Optimist Club’s Halloween Parade and The Downtown Westfield Corporation’s Costume Contest, which will distribute medals for a variety of Halloween and Charles Addams-themed categories.

Pugsley’s Trunk or Treat
Sunday, October 27

Join us as the South Avenue train station becomes Trick-or-Treating Central with the Second Annual Pugsley’s Trunk-or-Treat. Calling all creative minds to register their cars, decorate them with an original theme, and distribute candy from their trunks for thousands of eager trick-or-treaters.

Wicked Windows of Westfield

New this year!!! - Gomez’s DYNAMITE Model Railway

Don't miss Gomez’s Dynamite Model Railway, a new addition to our festivities, which will celebrate Gomez’s well-known love of model trains. Join us for exhibitions from both The Model Railroad Club of Union County and the Gersten family, whose small scale model railroad layout was built to represent major Westfield landmarks, past and present. This memorable exhibit is a can’t-miss event for train lovers of all ages!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Historic Rialto Theater

Grab your newspapers, noisemakers, and party hats as the doors to the Rialto Theater open for The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

 

This year, the Friday Night Specials Cast will be at the screenings for the full audience participation experience! 

 

Sure to draw audiences from neighboring towns, as well as Brad and Janet fans locally, it’s a night not to be missed!  We can already sense the antici.......pation.

Paranormal Investigations at the Reeve House

Are there ghosts in Westfield? The 1870 Historic Reeve House was occupied for more than 100 years before the Reeve brothers donated it to the Westfield Historical Society in 1985. Are any of their spirits still residing there? Walk through the house with New Jersey Paranormal experts to find out!

Chas Addams was as interesting a character as any that appeared in his cartoons. Get to know the man behind the drawings, what inspired him, how he lived as a boy growing up in Westfield and dig deeper into the hidden messages behind his work.
