Sunday, October 27
2:00pm - 3:30pm
Westfield Armory (Change of Venue!)
500 Rahway Avenue
AH, THE RAIN!
Is that another soaking rain storm heading directly our way for an outdoor event? Yep! We like to think of it as Charles Addams' stamp of approval.
Here at Team AddamsFest, we've never met a weather challenge we couldn't handle! With an Addams-y 100% chance of steady rain for Sunday, we've done some regrouping to keep the festivities intact.
Join us at the Westfield Armory for some Halloween fun that will include entertainment by the Westfield HS Marching Band and our DJ to get kids in the Halloween spirit! And of course there will be trunk-or-treating (minus the trunks).
No car trunks? No problem! Our registered trunk-or-treat vehicle owners are going to instead use their decorations on tables throughout the Armory, where candy will be distributed, courtesy of Hershey.
While this change in venue means skipping the Halloween Costume Parade this year, the Optimist Club/Downtown Westfield Corporation Costume Contest will proceed by having the contest judges circulating the venue during trick-or-treating to select the winners.
Costumes. Music. Candy. Prizes. That should do it. See you there!
event timing details
2:00 - Trunk or Treat opens
2:00 - 3:00 - Costume Contest judges circulate the venue during trick or treating to select the winners
3:30 - Trunk or Treat concludes (as supplies last)
PARKING & LOGISTICS
Parking: The Westfield High School parking lot will be available; please use the crosswalk where the police officer is stationed to cross Rahway Avenue. No parking will be permitted at the Armory, except for guests with disabilities.
Entrance: Enter via the front ramp of Armory, on the Rahway Avenue side.
Crowd Flow: While the Armory is a large venue, there are still necessary capacity limits to ensure public safety -- so there may be some outdoor (under tents) waiting periods at times before entry is permitted, as we keep the crowd circulating. We will do our best to keep lines to a minimum!
REGISTER TO DECORATE A TABLE
Trunk or Treat is graciously sponsored by Atlantic Health System
If you wait for Halloween all year to show off your creative skills, this is your chance to let loose. We invite you to decorate a trick-or-treating table to pass out candy. Be sure to arrive between 11:30 and 12:30 to get your car set up, and bring between 300 - 400 pieces of candy to start off the event. We will provide candy supplements, courtesy of Hershey, with help from Shovlin, Oceans Orthodontics, and JAG-ONE Physical Therapy!
Gift cards to local businesses will be awarded to the best cars in a number of categories, including Best Decorated, Best Group Theme, Best High School Student Car, and Spookiest Car.
