Charlie’s Ale Garden returns to the AddamsFest line up this year! The most in-demand event of the season will be held on Sunday, October 17, from 5:00 PM through 10:00 PM outside on the grounds of the Westfield Armory, and will once again feature beer and wine poured by Harvest Restaurant Group, as well as food for purchase from a variety of local restaurants.

MODIFICATIONS FOR COVID

Charlie’s Ale Garden will follow all public health guidelines, and will also implement some key modifications to help minimize the risk of COVID transmission:

  • The entire event will be held outdoors (with a rain date of Sunday, October 17, from 5:00 – 10:00 PM).

  • Capacity has been reduced from 2019 levels to allow for more space.

  • All attendees must show proof of COVID vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event.

FREE COVID TESTING AVAILABLE ON OCTOBER 13

Through a partnership with Union County, a free COVID testing site will be operating on Wednesday, October 13, at the South Avenue train station lot from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. While testing is not required for vaccinated individuals to attend Charlie’s Ale Garden, event organizers highly encourage every attendee to take advantage of this testing opportunity in order to provide an additional measure of community protection. The testing site, which will also offer COVID vaccinations, will be open to the public.

Westfield has a high vaccination rate, at 74% of our entire population, and 94% of adults! As we organize this event and take all of the appropriate public health precautions, we are of course also mindful of the role the Delta variant is playing and that everyone’s personal risk tolerance level varies. For those who want to participate in the ale garden, let’s continue to do our part and look out for one another by getting tested as an extra layer of protection for all AddamsFesters.

ENTERTAINMENT

Music will be provided by a line-up of local bands, all chosen through a public call for submissions to Westfield residents.

In addition, an outdoor game area with a variety of activities of fun arcade games will be presented by Wonder, a new on-demand dining experience that brings dishes from some of the best chefs and restaurants from across the country to customers’ doorstep, now available in Westfield and other nearby towns.

Tickets

Advance tickets to enter the ale garden will be $25 each, with a limit of two per household, and include the entry wristband, commemorative cup, and live entertainment. Food and beverages are sold separately. Entrants must be 21 and provide proof of age.

Tickets will be sold in three tiers on our website:

  • Group 1: AddamsFest stakeholders. All AddamsFest event chairs and core volunteers will receive early access to the ticketing site on Tuesday, October 5, with a limit of two full priced tickets per transaction.

  • Group 2: Open ticketing for Westfield residents. Due to the high COVID vaccination rate of the community and the reduced capacity of this year’s event for public health purposes, the initial batch of tickets will only be sold to Westfield residents. These tickets will go on sale on Thursday, October 7, at 8:00 PM, with a limit of two per household. The ticketing team reserves the right to cancel any orders that do not present a verifiable Westfield address or those that exceed the household maximum.

  • Group 3: Open Ticketing for All: Starts Monday, October 11, at 8:00 PM.  Two ticket maximum per transaction; one transaction per household.

BEFORE YOU PURCHASE: Tickets for Charlie’s Ale Garden are non-refundable, unless the event is canceled due to public health considerations. Refunds will not be issued for attendee cancellations, the inability to attend the rain date, or weather cancellation on the rain date.
